ARTIST RESIDENCY & SCULPTURE PARK

Modular mass timber elements ground this proposal for a communal living scheme at the art & sculpture park in Ghent, New York.

Art OMI hosts a variety of artists, including writers, painters, architects, sculptors, and musicians, which provides an opportunity for collaborative & creative living.

Two residents share four pods, organized around a central courtyard. The open floor plan of each pod allows residents to customize and reorganize their sleeping and studio quarters as their residency progresses.

A shared round barn anchors the site, providing performance space, communal dinning, and a workshop for building large scale installation work for the surrounding sculpture garden.
