EMERALD GROVE

HOUSING DEVELOPMENT & BLUE CORRIDOR

In collaboration with Emily Comfort and Scout Kerensky-Coodley

Situated on the borough line of Brooklyn & Queens, Emerald Grove weaves together conscientious housing density, high-quality urban green space, and a ‘blue corridor’ that connects the Jewel Streets with Jamaica Bay through the revitalization of Spring Creek.

In response to HPD’s Jewel Streets Neighborhood Plan, we propose an eco-park that brings 535 new units to this city-owned, 17-acre site south of Stanley Avenue.

Housing and landscape work together to slow and facilitate water flow at a variety of scales. Local ecology catalyzes social resilience through an intimate relationship between residents, site remediation, & hydrology.
