MARSHWAZY LIBRARY
BROOKLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY LINDSAY BOX RENOVATION
The Spring Creek Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library in East New York is one of the many ‘Lindsay Box’ libraries built in the 1970s—simple, cost-effective buildings with limited design.
To better serve the neighborhood, we vertically expand the library with precision-milled Mass Timber elements, increasing visibility & community engagement.
With East New York’s population of young people under 25 without a high school diploma, this branch offers improved educational programing, with an emphasis on school retention and nature exploration.
